The Summer Academy @ Cal State University is designed for middle and high school students to explore and cultivate knowledge and skill sets that allow them to come up with a tremendous portfolio for college applications.
Students leave the Academy with certificate of completion, recommendation letter, enhanced academic readiness for university admissions and academic network.
Course Descriptions
- College-level business classes preparing you to be a future business major at college
- Cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial ideas and creation of business plan based on business model canvas
- Group project & the final pitch judged by Cal State University professors and administrators
- Hands-on learning experience at Cal State University Student Idea Labs
- Leadership and teamwork
Program Module
- Module One (10 hours): Business lectures, hands-on learning opportunities, and workshops
- Module Two (10 hours): Creation and development of innovation and entrepreneurial ideas
- Module Three (10 hours): Lectures and skill-building practices on leadership/public speaking/teamwork
- Module Four (10 hours): Interactions and exchanges with Cal Poly Pomona students; final presentation on business pitch
